hi, sorry for re-post but i got no answers and need advice! i often suffer with very sore shoulders which spreads down my arm and to my wrist and hand affecting my grip, usually this lasts a day and then goes but when i am pregnant to gets worse and is alot more painful, i suffered from this when i was pregnant with my last baby and my GP said i should really be on anti-inflamatories as it was very inflamed and sore but i cant take them when pregnant so i would have to just not use the arm as much as possible and take paracetamol, it took nearly 2 weeks off work and not using the arm before it got better, this pain started again yesterday, the first time this pregnancy, it seems to be linked to getting cold or wet, anyway i went to the chemist who gave me co-codemol and i have been wearing a arm support and applying tiger balm which is a natural remedy made from veg extracts, the pain is a little better but it is still hurting, i have 2 other kids to look after so it is not always possible not to use my arm as i need to push the pram etc, i am going on holiday in 10 days and would really like the pain to have at least dulled before i go, is there anything you can advise that is safe to do/ take? im 20weeks pregnant, thanks.

  8. Anyone deal with Fibromyalgia in a loved one? How?

    August 28, 2010, 3:52 am
I've been in an on again off again relationship for 7 years with a woman who has fibromyalgia. Long story short she's always in pain and can hardly function in a relationship. We can't go to the movies, dinner, nada. I've tried to deal with the no affection part of it but it ain't working. There's no way around the fact that men and women need love and "affection". I don't like the idea of finding that affection somewhere else because part of me does love her and always will. I don't care about the no cooking or cleaning, laundry etc...I can do all that myself no problem. Fact remains i need affection. I've contemplated marriage but without the affection part it would never work and I don't want to hurt someone. Deal with it, marry her and try to make it work? Deal with it and just be friends and look for someone else? Any suggestions?
  9. Keep your own records of your medical history

Communication could be the riskiest procedure in medicine. Researchers estimate that nearly 8 million drug side effects could be prevented or resolved each year if doctors and patients communicated better (Archives of Internal Medicine, Jan. 24, 2005). They encourage doctors to let patients know what side effects to watch out for and patients to tell their doctors what symptoms they experience.
